Large mobile operator MTS to enter IT security market by 2018
MOSCOW, May 19 (PRIME) -- Russian mobile operator MTS will enter the IT security market by the end of 2017 and will provide other companies with services to resist cyberthreats, the operator said on Friday in a statement.
“The launch of the center has allowed the company to enforce information security of IT systems and effectively fight back cyberthreats…On the basis of the experience, we plan to design standard products for future clients, by type of information threats and vertical solutions for industries and scales of business,” MTS said.
“MTS intends to enter the market of information security until the end of the year…we’ve started testing services with several companies.”
MTS will use its own resources and competences of its unit, IT company NVision Group. The operator earlier opened the Security Operations Center, working around the clock for MTS’ needs.
In 2016, the operator detected some 4.5 million cases of infection of client devices, and about 2.5 million subscribers deleted malicious content upon notifications of contamination.
